Heavy Duty Gantry Machining Center is a CNC machine tool designed for large-size, high-precision machining tasks, with a gantry structure layout. It is mainly composed of a fixed beam and a movable worktable. The worktable moves along the bed rail in the X-axis direction, the slide moves along the beam rail in the Y-axis direction, and the work head moves up and down along the slide rail in the Z-axis direction. This structural design enables the machine tool to withstand large cutting forces and heavy workpieces, and is suitable for large workpiece processing in industries such as aerospace, shipbuilding, large molds, and heavy machinery.

 

NTB series machine tools are mainly used for locomotive and subway parts processing, and the processed products are mainly small and medium-sized plate parts. The processing and cutting processes are mainly used for milling, chamfering, plane, boring and milling, drilling, tapping and other processes of machined parts made of materials such as 16MnDR, Q355ME, and Q460ME.

 

 

Features

 

High-load-carrying workbench
Heavy Duty Gantry Machining Center is equipped with a large-size workbench, ranging from 3200×2000mm to 8000×3500mm, and the maximum load capacity is increased from 10,000kg to 50,000kg, which is suitable for processing large workpieces of different sizes. The high-load-carrying workbench ensures that the machine tool can stably support heavy-loaded workpieces, reduce vibration and deformation, and ensure the stability and safety of processing.

 

High-power spindle matches reasonable speed
This series of spindles all adopt BT50 specifications, with a maximum power range from 22kW to 49kW, a standard maximum speed of 3000rpm, and an optional maximum speed of 6000rpm, which is suitable for roughing and finishing needs. The high-power spindle ensures continuous and stable power output during heavy-load cutting, combined with a multi-speed design to meet the efficiency and quality requirements of different materials and cutting conditions. For every 10% increase in spindle power, the cutting speed and cutting depth can be increased by 8%-12% accordingly.

 

Precision positioning system
The positioning accuracy of this series of machine tools reaches 0.008mm/1000mm, and the repeat positioning accuracy is 0.004mm/1000mm, which meets the VDI standard and reflects the high-precision motion control capability of the machine tool. The high-precision screw and guide rail system cooperates with the rigid gantry structure to reduce thermal deformation and mechanical clearance, ensuring dimensional stability during long-term processing. Reducing the positioning error by half can reduce the product scrap rate by 10%-15%, and can improve the processing consistency and yield rate.

 

Reasonable fast moving speed and automatic tool change capacity
The fast moving speed of the machine tool X, Y, and Z axes reaches 10~12m/min (X axis up to 12m/min), which meets the fast positioning requirements under heavy load and shortens the non-cutting time of processing. Equipped with 24 to 40 tool magazines, it supports multi-process continuous processing, with a maximum tool diameter of 200mm and a tool length of 350mm, which is suitable for complex processing tasks. The combination of high-speed movement and large-capacity tool magazine can shorten the overall processing cycle by 20%-25%, improve the continuity and automation level of the production line, and reduce the frequency of manual intervention.

◇ This machine adopts a column-fixed and worktable-movable layout. The gantry frame consists of two large-section columns on the left and right and a high-rigidity crossbeam. It has a stable rigid structure and excellent thermal symmetry.

◇ The longitudinal movement of the workbench along the base fixed on the foundation is defined as the X-axis; the slide is installed on the beam, and the left and right movement of the slide along the beam guide is defined as the Y-axis; the full-covered square slide that can move up and down is fixed on the slide and defined as the Z-axis. The three axes move at the end of the screw, and the servo motor is controlled by an absolute encoder.

◇ The main large-scale basic parts of the machine tool, including the base, worktable, column, beam, and slide, are made of high-quality high-grade HT300 gray cast iron precision casting, and the ram is made of QT500 high-quality ductile iron precision casting. After secondary tempering and stress relief treatment, it has high structural rigidity, good vibration absorption and thermal stability.
