Description

 

4 Axis Gantry Machining Center is a gantry structure CNC machining equipment with four-axis linkage function. It is mainly composed of a beam, a worktable, a slide and a fourth axis with rotation function. It can adjust the angle or perform multi-faceted processing on the workpiece through an additional rotation axis on the basis of the three linear axes of X, Y and Z. It is widely used in multi-faceted positioning and high-efficiency cutting needs in industries such as molds, structural parts, and energy equipment.

Precision machining capability
The 4-axis gantry machining center adopts a high-rigidity gantry frame structure, uses a cast iron one-piece main frame, and is equipped with large-size roller-type linear guides and C3-level ball screws. The positioning accuracy can reach ±0.01~±0.03mm, and the repeated positioning accuracy is maintained at ±0.01~±0.02mm. The spindle is equipped with a high-power motor with a speed range of 12000~24000rpm. Combined with a high-precision servo drive system, it can stably achieve high-precision cutting of complex curved surfaces and angled surfaces.

 

Support for large workpiece processing
Compared with traditional vertical or horizontal machining centers, the 4-axis gantry structure has obvious size coverage advantages. The X-axis travel supports 3000mm to 7000mm, and some models can reach 10000mm; the Y-axis travel is usually 1000-1500mm, and the Z-axis standard travel is 300-600mm, which is suitable for large aluminum profiles, steel structures, rail transit structures, etc. The completion rate of one clamping of the machining surface exceeds 80%, reducing the cumulative error and labor cost caused by multiple clamping.

 

Efficient automated tool management system
The 4-axis gantry machining center is widely equipped with an automatic tool changer (ATC), and the mainstream configuration is a 12-24-position tool magazine with a tool change time of less than 3 seconds. Through the combination of servo positioning + pneumatic or hydraulic tool changer arms, continuous multi-process cutting can be achieved without manual intervention, improving the actual operation rate (OEE) of the equipment. In continuous batch operations, the overall machine utilization rate can be increased by about 25%. In addition, most equipment supports double-work area alternating processing (Pallet Changer). When one area is processed, the other area can be clamped, saving non-cutting time.

 

Multi-angle and multi-functional integrated processing capabilities
The fourth axis (A axis or B axis) has the ability to rotate by ±90° or 180°, allowing the equipment to achieve five-sided processing, which is particularly suitable for multi-angle milling and drilling operations of special-shaped parts and spatial surfaces. The spindles are mostly BT40 or HSK63 interfaces, supporting fast tool change and multiple tool adaptation. The processing content includes end milling, three-dimensional drilling, inclined hole tapping, curved surface root cleaning, etc., integrating multiple traditional processing processes into one process, reducing the average process steps by 2 to 3 and improving the overall processing efficiency by about 30%.
